Why Work With Me?
Hi, I am Nicole, the founder of Coastal Healing Counseling! As far back as I can remember, I have always been the person my friends and family turn to during difficult times, as a reliable, relatable, and understanding listener. Offering support and providing a safe space for others to share their stories has always felt natural to me. Over time, this deep-seated passion to help others work through their struggles led me to pursue a career as a therapist. It is truly an honor to create an environment where people can confront their challenges and begin their healing process.
I have witnessed how challenging times impact those we love, and I have also experienced the mental and physical toll that comes from being a competitive athlete. During my gymnastics career, I developed a mix of valuable strengths and unhealthy mental and physical habits that influenced my self-image. I consistently aimed for perfection, but I quickly realized that perfectionism often introduces a harsh inner critic that restricts growth.
In my own process of self-discovery, I recognized that I, too, needed to do the deep work of unlocking my authentic self. By confronting and shifting these mental barriers and limiting thought patterns, I was able to embrace who I truly am. Now, I am passionate about helping others break through their own obstacles, develop self-compassion, and emerge into their truest selves.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminology (Go Noles!), and later completed my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. John’s University. Throughout my career, I have gained experience working in private practice, as well as community-based and residential settings. My background also includes experience supporting individuals of all backgrounds and ages in the mental health, social work, and criminal justice fields.

I stay connected to my inner athlete through exercise. You will often find me at the gym, attending a HIIT or yoga class, or enjoying a walk outdoors. Exercise is extremely healing for me and a way that I maintain balance in my life.

Finding the right therapist is often a challenging yet essential part of the healing journey. I take pride in creating a safe, open, and non-judgmental space where healing can take place for my clients. The therapeutic relationship is incredibly important to me, and I encourage your thoughts, feedback, and openness throughout our work together.
I also enjoy delving deeper with my clients. Underneath the surface issues that often bring people to therapy, I believe there is underlying stress and trauma that also needs attention. Without addressing the root causes, people can get stuck in repetitive patterns.
Do not allow unhealed wounds or harmful thought and behavior patterns to keep you trapped. The choice is in your hands: you can remain where you are, or you can break free and move forward. By healing and addressing these patterns, you will unlock new opportunities, some of which you may not even be able to envision yet.
You deserve to show up for yourself and invest in your own growth. Remember, your dreams will not work unless you do. I encourage you to trust the process, and together, we will put in the work necessary for your transformation.
